Description:
FPR is a family run and operated, small American company, set up by owner Kevin Thiemann to source affordable fountain pens using Indian manufacturers. As well as their own brand of pens, they also offer other Indian brands on their website, along with a few colours of their own ink (I have the Blue Black if you want to try it) and accessories.
As well as the standard nib sizes, they offer their own flex nibs (and have recently developed an ultra flex nib) in both steel and gold at reasonable prices.
This is their Himalaya model in a lovely acrylic (it's also available in ebonite) and silver-coloured fittings. It has an ebonite feed and steel flex nib which, whilst not super soft, gives some nice line variation and is quite robust - but please don't push it too hard. It writes well with some toothiness, is well made and something of a bargain at the price - except for import duties and postage costs to the UK.
Filling system: cartridge converter included and it can be eyedroppered (but please let me know if you're returning it inked!)
