Description (from the Write Here website):
"Made by our colleagues at Scrittura Bolognese, the Write Here SCRIBO – Mariana Deep Blue is a new version of this series of pens, each of which has only 50 made. It is a piston filling fountain pen with Rhodium appointments and a range of 18ct and extra-flessible 14ct nib, based on the OMAS 81 nib.

It is the Deep Blue Mariana, the name inspired by the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. In 1960 Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh, of the US Navy, descended to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, 36,037 ft deep. The Bathyscaphe “Trieste” was designed by Swiss scientist Auguste Piccard – Jacques father – and built in Italy. It was the first ever descent to such depths. This opened the way to exploration of the deepest parts of our oceans, revealing the surprising richness of life and activity. The colours of our pen conjured thoughts of the mighty depths of the ocean, the deep blue being pierced by the bathyscaphe’s lights revealing – who knows what.

Designed by Flaminia Angelone and created by the Scrittura Bolognese team, it is a magnificent pen."
