Description:
If you've wondered about buying a Sailor 1911 fountain pen
but want to know a bit more about them before splashing out, this is a good place to start.
The Sailor Shikiori Hisakata (formerly the Procolor) fountain pen is almost identical in size and shape to the Sailor 1911 Standard (small) - but half the cost, around £55 instead of £114 (or more for limited editions). The difference is due primarily to the nib material - this pen has a stainless steel nib rather than the 14k gold one in the premium pen. I'd also say that the resin used is less premium too - but that's not to say this isn't a good pen - it is. The nib gives a great idea of how smooth the Sailor nibs can be. That said, my advice would be to buy the 1911 S if you can - the price difference is worth it for the gold nib.
Filling system: cartridge converter (included).
