In the 1970s, the three Japanese brands had a huge pocket pen catalog. Someone started pushing the idea that higher karat meant more prestige, and a karat war broke out, with Pilot and Platinum nibs going as high as 22k, and Sailor as high as "24k", before the nonsense died out.
The higher karat nibs are usually found in pocket pens. This pen houses the only high-karat nib I've ever found in a full-sized pen. The nib is bouncy and cushiony and one of my favorite Japanese vintage nibs.
This nib is delicate and is NOT a flex nib. Please don't try to flex it.
